  • General Description

    Collaborate with section leadership to develop, design, update and maintain 20+ websites using modern design concepts, standard HTML/CSS practices and mainstream development software such as WordPress, DNN, Dreamweaver and other content management systems. Coordinate with section leadership to develop graphics, layout, and designs for websites and other digital communications. Use web applications and custom programming to incorporate user-friendly website applications and modules. Facilitate section marketing and publications using e-blasts, websites, brochures, interactive newsletters and dynamic web pages. Coordinate with team members, section leadership and outside developers to maintain and update sites based upon section initiatives and activities. Serve as back-up for other team members by providing administrative support, traveling, planning and supervising events, and attending meetings. Must have strong communication abilities including excellent proofing, writing and editing skills, and function well in a high pressure, team environment.

    Primary Functions

    1. Create website layouts and user interface using modern design concepts and standard HTML/CSS practices.
    2. Layout and design web pages based upon client provided content.
    3. Develop and/or incorporate user-friendly .NET-based web applications, such as: event management systems, search engines, eCommerce, member directories, and password protected areas.
    4. Manage website servers, domain name ownership, renewals and web-hosting arrangements.
    5. Facilitate section marketing and publications using e-blasts, websites, hard-copy and electronic brochures, interactive newsletters and social media.
    6. Develop section newsletters using dynamic eblasts and responsive web pages.
    7. Write and edit copy for websites, email advertisements and course brochures.
    8. Serve as back-up to other team members by traveling and supervising logistics of conferences and meetings, including setup, meals and audio visual needs.
    9. Present information to small audiences and individuals to provide education regarding websites, technologies and best practices. Coordinate with individuals directly regarding website needs and goals.
    10. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Position Requirements

    College degree preferred. Must have a minimum of three years of experience building websites using WordPress or other industry standard technologies and content management systems. Must have knowledge of html, CSS, and PHP industry programming. Must be proficient in all Adobe Professional Suite and Microsoft Office applications and various website content management systems. Must have experience integrating web and mobile applications such as online registration systems, membership directories, library search engines, eCommerce systems and social media tools. Must possess strong organizational, problem-solving, negotiation and conflict management skills, a strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a team environment. Must have excellent proofing, writing and editing skills. Requires the ability to communicate in a non-technical and collaborative manner. Travel required. Public speaking skills are preferred.
