This part-time position provides project coordination for the Legal Access Division of the State Bar of Texas and the Texas Access to Justice Commission to increase awareness of access to justice issues for low-income Texans. Responsible for assisting with communication materials, including content for website, social media, e-newsletter, fundraising appeals, and other materials as needed. Responsible for assisting with the visual presence of statewide pro bono efforts of the State Bar of Texas and the Texas Access to Justice Commission. Assist with the coordination of conferences and training events. Involves frequent contact with State Bar departments, committees, volunteers, and the public.
The Texas Center for Legal Ethics, a (501(c)(3) non-profit organization, produces programs in ethics and maintains information for Texas lawyers about ethics and professionalism. Under the direct supervision of the Director, Compliance and Operations, this position provides administrative and secretarial support for the Center. In addition to administrative duties, typing and filing, this position will perform duties such as researching potential members/donors to fund the Center’s projects, obtained, assisting with financial record keeping, assistance in coordinating meetings and seminars, coordinating direct mailings and working on special projects. Assist in developing plans and activities for and facilitating membership engagement and retention. Independent initiative and judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload.
The Administrative Assistant for the Office of Minority Affairs provides administrative support and assists in coordinating the diversity initiatives for the State Bar of Texas. Responsibilities include general office management, data entry, conference registration, meeting planning and catering coordination, social media promotion, and other program production duties. This position works under the general supervision of the department director and involves frequent contact with State Bar departments, committees, volunteers, and the public.
Represents the Texas Commission for Lawyer Discipline in attorney discipline proceedings in District Courts, the Supreme Court’s Board of Disciplinary Appeals, and before District Grievance Committees. Provides ethical direction to State Bar members. This position involves frequent contact with State Bar departments, as well as with outside agencies and organizations, and with complainants and respondent attorneys.
This position analyzes Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts (IOLTA) financial data and manages the Annual IOLTA Compliance functions for attorneys and law firms throughout Texas. Additionally, this position coordinates and supports specific grants-related administration.
The Program Officer serves on the Grants Team and reports to the Director of Grants. This position is responsible for implementing and managing all aspects of assigned Foundation grantees and specific grant programs.
Activities will include comprehensive grants program administration; research, proposal review, development of grant recommendations, insuring compliance by grantees of funding requirements; and tracking and monitoring of grant data.
