Represents the Texas Commission for Lawyer Discipline in attorney disciplinary proceedings before District Grievance Committees, District Courts, and the Board of Disciplinary Appeals. Involves frequent contact with State Bar departments, as well as with outside agencies and organizations, and participants in the attorney discipline system.
Provides a variety of general administrative support services to the Membership Department, including Sections payment processing; maintaining Sections membership records; maintaining Paralegal records; processing deceased attorney records; and answering and responding to telephone calls requesting customer service, information, and assistance. Frequent contact with other departments of the State Bar, the public, and other individuals and organizations outside the State Bar.

Supports trial attorneys in case development. Conducts investigations and analysis of complaints of professional misconduct against attorneys licensed to practice law in Texas. Serves as primary executive staff to the Texas Access to Justice Commission (Commission). Brings existing knowledge concerning access to justice issues and the Texas legal community and environment. When directed by the Commission, assists in implementing or coordinating the implementation of all related projects that promote access to justice for low-income Texans. Directs the preparation of the State Bar’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and all interim financial statement reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Oversee the annual internal audits and financial statement audit conducted by external auditors. Manages the accounting department, including ensuring all monthly closing processes are completed. Prepares monthly financial statements that include the governmental and enterprise funds. Assists in training State Bar staff regarding financial policies and procedures. Reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
The Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts (IOLTA) Administrator supports and ensures the accuracy and completeness of Texas IOLTA Program database management system, including tracking, analyzing, and compiling detailed financial data and related documentation from more than100,000 attorneys, 36,000+ IOLTA accounts with 400+ financial institutions. The IOLTA Program is administered by the Texas Access to Justice Foundation to provide civil legal services throughout the state.
Responsibilities of the IOLTA Administrator include processing detailed financial data from monthly and quarterly bank reports and imports into the IOLTA database and managing and administering the annual IOLTA compliance functions for all Texas attorneys and law firms.
