The Client-Attorney Assistance Program is a State Bar of Texas program that is designed to assist members of the public in resolving minor disputes with their Texas lawyers at the input stage of the disciplinary process. The Program Associate is responsible for staffing and responding to public calls on the State Bar of Texas Grievance Information Hotline maintained by the Commission for Lawyer Discipline. Performs other Program tasks, under the direct supervision of the Director of the Client-Attorney Assistance Program.

The Texas Lawyers’ Assistance Program (TLAP) of the State Bar of Texas seeks an experienced, collegial and highly professional licensed attorney or a Masters level licensed therapist (LPC, LMFT, or LCSW) to work in support of TLAP’s mission, which is to provide confidential support and referrals for lawyers, law students and judges who are experiencing issues with substance use and/or mental health. Provides a variety of administrative support services in the intake of grievances received in the Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel against attorneys licensed to practice law in Texas. This position involves the accurate handling of a high volume of data in a deadline-driven environment, and frequent contact and interaction with the Intake Team, other departments in the organization, the public, respondents, and other outside agencies and organizations.
This position provides project coordination for the State Bar’s Legal Access Department and the Texas Access to Justice Commission to support increasing access to justice for low-income Texans. The position assists with the coordination of large conferences, events, and meetings. Also, facilitates communication efforts regarding access to justice issues, including outreach via listservs, social media, and other web-based efforts. Responsible for coordinating, organizing, and supervising specific stages of preparations for continuing legal education (CLE) programs. Works with staff and professionals/volunteers to formulate the content, create promotional pieces, assemble written materials, and staff the program. The position is extremely deadline driven and requires minimal supervision. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule of remote work and in office at the discretion of the employer.
The Program Officer serves on the Grants Team and reports to the Director of Grants. Responsible for implementing and managing all aspects of assigned Foundation grantees and informing the team of all information and issues pertinent to the TAJF grantee community as a whole. Interfaces with the communications manager on all public relations specific to assigned grantees and projects. Serves as a key member of the Foundation's Grants Team to implement all aspects of grant-making and monitoring initiatives that result in achieving TAJF’s mission and vision.
